The Langer collection is extensive. Senate papers (1941-1959) include materials from his work on the following committees: Civil Service (1941-1947); Post Office and Post Roads (1941-1947); Post Office and Civil Service (1947-1952, 1955-1959); Indian Affairs (1941-1946); Judiciary (1941-1959, chair 1953-54); Printing (1941-1942); Irrigation and Reclamation (1943-1946); Foreign Relations (1953-1959). Papers are included on Langer's difficulties with the Committee on Privileges and Elections on being seated after his election to the Senate in 1940; he was finally seated on March 27, 1942. Langer's Senate papers include materials on a variety of subjects, such as the Missouri River Diversion project, the Rural Electrification Administration, N.D. post offices, and various farm programs. There are also speeches, bills, clippings, and his subject files.
